Health headline discussion with UW Health’s Dr. Jeff Pothoff
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Dozens of students in Milwaukee got some tuition relief Wednesday, Sept. 18.
LULAC, the MATC Foundation, and the Milwaukee Brewers Latino Players presented scholarships to 65 Milwaukee Area Technical College students.
It's something they've all partnered on for the past nine years, handing out 272 scholarships totaling more than $207,000.
This year, Brewers' Freddy Peralta, Willy Adames and four others raised more than $54,000 in scholarships with the help of the Brewers Community Foundation.
"It's a pleasure for me to be here, to be part of this," said Peralta. "And you know, it's just giving something to the city that's been supporting me for seven years. And I'm going to keep doing it, I don't know for how long I'm going to be here, but probably for - hopefully for many years."
The scholarships given out Wednesday ranged from $250-$1,000.
