FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office says all nine people treated for carbon monoxide exposure have been released from the hospital. 

Officials say an investigation found a boiler unit in the home was malfunctioning and the homeowner had been attempting repairs, causing carbon monoxide to exhaust into the home. 

An investigation is ongoing. 

The sheriff's office urges all community members to make sure their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in working order as we enter the colder months of the year.

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Seven children and two adults are being treated for symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, after a 911 call from a homeowner in the Town of Osceola early Wednesday, Sept. 30. 

First responders were called to the home on County Road B just after 2 a.m. after the caller reported multiple people experiencing symptoms. 

The children- ages 4, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, and 17, were taken by ambulance to local hospitals with severe symptoms. The sheriff's office says a 46-year-old man and 42-year-old woman were also transported for treatment. 

The incident remains under investigation.
