MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — A 7-year-old is expected to survive after being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Milwaukee.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the crash happened around 2:30 p.m. near West Lisbon Avenue and North 37th Street.

A preliminary investigation found that a vehicle was making a turn when it struck the child. Police say the vehicle continued traveling before crashing into a fence.

The 7-year-old was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was arrested and cited in connection with the crash.
