A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- According to Waukesha police, a 74-year-old woman was hospitalized Saturday, October 28 around 12:26 p.m. following a rollover car crash on Highway I-94 near Grandview.
Police say this crash came shortly after they started pursuing a suspect that failed to stop for several violations. The chase was terminated shortly after the suspect got on Highway I-94 heading eastbound.
After getting on the highway, the suspect made an erratic move across three lanes of cars hitting another car and causing it to roll over, then hit a second car, before spinning off of the highway and hitting a tree.
The driver of the car that rolled over was a 74-year-old woman who was taken to a hospital with several injuries and is believed to be stable.
The driver of the second car that was hit was not hurt.
The suspect, a 20-year-old man, was arrested and taken to a hospital and is believed to be stable.
Police say that drugs and alcohol most likely played a part in this accident.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to help.
Traffic was backed up and then diverted for several hours while the highway was shutdown to investigate the crash.
This remains an open and active investigation.
