9 killed in crash involving van, semi in Clark County

CLARK COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving a semi-tractor and a van in Clark County Friday, March 8. 

According to the Clark County Sheriff's Office, 9 people have died as a result of the crash. One person was in the semi, the driver. There were 9 people in the van, 8 of them, including the driver, died at the scene. One passenger in the van was taken to a local hospital as a result of their injuries. 

According to the sheriff's office, the semi was traveling eastbound on State Highway 95 approaching the intersection of County Highway J in the Town of Dewhurst. As it approached the intersection, the semi struck a van driving northbound on Highway J. 

The highways have been cleared, and the investigation is ongoing.
