HARTLAND, Wis. (CBS 58) - Carl Meyer was at the Chenequa Country Club on Friday playing 100 holes to help raise money for the “Hire Heroes USA” charity.
Yes, you heard that right! One hundred holes.
The charity helps veterans get back in the workforce, by helping with resumes and interviews.
“That helps them to get a tremendous level of success when they’re looking for a new job,” Meyer said.
Meyer plays 100 holes every year on the 4th of July, dating back to 18 years ago.
“I said 'Hey I’ve got this crazy idea to play 100', and I can raise awareness, and I can raise funds,” Meyer said.
He connected with the charity and never looked back.
Just this year alone, around $170,000 has been donated, and over 100,000 veterans have been placed into a new job in the charity’s history.
“I’ll do it again next year and hopefully the 20th year,” Meyer said.
