9 people displaced in overnight fire on Milwaukee's south side

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Several people are displaced after a fire on Milwaukee's south side overnight.

It happened around 12 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10 near 7th and Cleveland in Milwaukee. 

Police said the four-unit apartment building caught fire from a stove that was accidentally left on. 

A cat and two dogs perished in the fire. 

The Red Cross says it's helping nine people from three different units of the building.

This is a developing story. CBS 58 is working to learn what may have started the fire and how much damage it caused.
