MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — With sunny weather in the forecast, there will be no shortage of things to do around Milwaukee this weekend.
CBS 58 caught up with Claire Koenig from Visit Milwaukee to highlight several events taking place June 26-28.
Those looking to experience the city from the water can hop aboard the Milwaukee Sightseeing & Architecture Cruise, offered Friday through Sunday. The 90-minute narrated tour travels along the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan harbor while showcasing the city's architecture and history. The cruise is dog-friendly, with beverages and snacks available for purchase.
Cycling fans can head to Shorewood on Friday for the 22nd Shorewood Criterium Classic, one of the nation's premier criterium races and part of the Tour of America's Dairyland. The free event features elite racing, food vendors, family activities, kids races and a one-mile fun run.
History buffs can also explore the North Point Historic District during a guided walking tour Friday hosted by Historic Milwaukee. The tour highlights the neighborhood's architecture, historic homes and unique stories beyond the iconic North Point Lighthouse. Reservations are required.
The newly opened Melt Yard at New Fashioned in the Deer District will also be open throughout the weekend, serving gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and other Wisconsin comfort food in an outdoor patio setting.
For those wanting to get out on the water themselves, Discovery World's dock will offer kayak, paddleboard, hydrobike and paddle boat rentals Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can enjoy Milwaukee's lakefront while taking in skyline views, with no prior boating experience required.
