GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- June 1 was Intergenerational Planting Day at Clement Manor senior living center in Greenfield.
"We don't get to do a lot with children very much here, and it really is a joyful thing," resident Sheila Gnat says.
Planting flowers together, kids from St. John the Evangelist School bring joy and purpose to the seniors, while the older folks share memories and wisdom with the students.
"I like it when they help us dig the hole, and then we can like, put it in," says second-grader Lilia Wichgers. "It's kinda like teamwork together."
"And besides, we leave something pretty behind, you know?" Gnat says. "So it gives us a purpose, it's good."
