MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man is thanking the Milwaukee Police Department on social media.
MPD posted a picture on Facebook with a message from the man. He said two officers went out of their way to help him when he ran out of gas on 20th and Keefe late one night.
He says he was trying to reach his mom who was stuck in an icy alley and the officers notified their dispatchers that they were off assignment, gave the man a ride home to get a gas can, and took him to a gas station, and then back to his car.
The grateful driver says he gave the officers a couple pizza passes for their kids and a "million thank yous."
