(MILWAUKEE) – Service-member suicides are quickly becoming a crisis in America. In addition to fighting the global war on terror, service members and veterans are left to battle postwar symptoms related to PTSD and it's taking a tragic toll. Last year, the US Military recorded its highest number of suicides among active-duty personnel in at least six years.
And that means caregivers like those at the Zablocki VA Medical Center are looking for new ways to reach veterans in need.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning Tori Bokios shares the story of Shelly Lopez, a Milwaukee veteran who found some creative relief through the arts.
