WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- DNR conservationist Ryan O'Connor is getting a lot of attention for a recent hike in west-central Wisconsin. While exploring some wilderness land he stumbled upon a plant that hasn't been seen in the Badger State since the late 1950s. A perennial wildflower known as a green violet.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Michael Schlesinger joined O'Conner for another hike to talk about his work and why the discovery is meaningful to those interested in Wisconsin's natural ecosystem.
