UW Health joins CBS 58 to talk the latest health headlines
FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Attorney General Josh Kaul met with the city of Franklin Fire Department, kicking off his series of visits with recipients of the EMS Leave Behind Program.
The Leave Behind Program allows EMS professionals to leave behind overdose prevention tools like Narcan and fentanyl test strips at the scene of care, or after the patient was transported to the hospital. Tools and resources are also distributed to the patient's social network.
Kaul says this program can help save lives.
"The more that we can get these tools in the hands of people, the more lives that we can save," said AG Kaul.
The Department of Health Services awarded 21 agencies, including Franklin Fire Department. Franklin Fire Department received nearly $12,000 in funding.
Narcan kits can be picked up at any of the Franklin Fire Department stations.
