GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) — One of the best-known running backs in Green Bay Packers history is facing a different kind of battle.

Former Packers running back Ahman Green, 49, revealed on the "Go Long" podcast that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Green, the Packers' all-time leading rusher, said he received the diagnosis in January 2025. He spent eight seasons with Green Bay and rushed for more than 8,000 yards during his time with the team.

There is no cure for Parkinson's disease, but treatments can help manage its symptoms. Green said he is approaching the diagnosis with the same toughness he brought to the football field.

"The way I look at it, my clock is going to stop ticking when I want it to stop ticking," Green said. "It's the way I ran the ball. That's how I look at it. You've got to break both my legs to stop me."

Green said he plans to continue working, remain active and face whatever comes next.
