NEENAH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue is seeking out community support after seeing a rapid increase in surrendered ball pythons.

According to the rescue, this underscores the growing demand for exotic pet rescue services across Wisconsin and the Midwest.

As of right now, the rescue has 34 ball pythons and 17 more were surrendered Friday, Jan. 2, with more expected to come in the following weeks.

The J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue, in response to the increased intake, has reduced adoption fees for ball pythons. They are also offering to transfer adoptable ball pythons at no charge to bona fide rescue organizations and accredited educational facilities.

Donations are welcome as well for frozen rodents, heating supplies and bedding.
