MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On Saturday, hundreds filled Milwaukee's historic Third Ward neighborhood for the return of the annual Third Ward Art Festival.

The event featured more than 200 artists from all over the country with a variety of mediums.

Besides the art for sale, there was also live music, face painting, food and drink, and family-friendly activities for kids.

"I'm always so humbled with how many people come out and support the artists here. I'm actually local so this is my local show, and I love seeing Milwaukee come out and celebrate artists," said Emma Jones, who uses oil paints for her small business, Art by Emma Jones. "The main theme is the light that I use in my paintings so I think everyone needs a little more light in their lives so that's what I try to bring to the art appreciators."

For attendees like Lisa LaMaster, who came with her husband Steven, the event holds a special meaning.

"We love this art festival, we come down every year. It's our anniversary!" LaMaster said, noting they've been together for 34 years. "We love the Third Ward, we love coming down here, we'll go find a place to drink later and have some food so it's just a fun day."

If you weren't able to come out Saturday, the event continues on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

"Us artists, we put in so much time and effort into what we make, and the best feeling is when we see people coming out to support," Jones said.
