MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Kids and their families got an up-close look at big trucks they normally only see driving by.
On Sunday, Aug. 11, was the annual Wheels and Water event at Discovery World.
Milwaukee Public Works brought out salt trucks and street sweepers. We Energies showed off their bucket trucks used to reach power lines. The Milwaukee Fire Department had their fire trucks, and one of their firefighting boats.
Those who plan the event say it can give kids an experience they may carry with them to adulthood.
"These are the vehicles and the people who are servicing our own communities that we live in, and it's really cool to learn about different career pathways that you might have with local companies here in Wisconsin," said Shannon Atwood, Director of Public Experience at Discovery World.
