Another chance to see the Northern Lights Friday night before some weekend showers

NOW: Another chance to see the Northern Lights Friday night before some weekend showers
NEXT:

What a magnificent show we got Thursday night with the Northern Lights dancing overhead throughout most of southeast Wisconsin! Friday will continue the beauty of the atmosphere with lots of sunshine and a warm day with highs around 80 and a decent breeze bringing in the warm air from the southwest.

The Aurora Borealis will once again be visible Friday night. The KP Index is not as high as it was Thursday night when it was approaching 9 but with an expected KP Index of 5 the Northern Lights may still be visible in Wisconsin on the horizon. The best view will be in dark areas, so get away from city lights and look north.

As we head into the weekend the chance for rain showers will go up. Friday still looks all dry but both Saturday and Sunday could see some showers with the best chances during the afternoon and evening. Saturday's chance looks best in southern counties but Sunday's chance is for everyone and Monday might also see some showers. It's not a knockout, washout chance but there's at least the potential to see some rain.

The weekend will be much cooler with highs only in the low 60s Saturday and Sunday. When not raining we have a partly cloudy sky. The wind gusts to 30 mph on Sunday but Saturday has a bit of a breeze as well.
