Inside Larry's Market in Brown Deer: Appetizer and cocktail tips
BROWN DEER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The busy holiday season is just getting underway at Larry's Market in Brown Deer. CBS 58 stopped by the market for some tips on preparing appetizers and cocktails for your gathering. Dale Curley, the owner of Larry's Market, says freshness and variety are key.
"Number one, it has to be attractive; I think. You want it to pop," said Curley. "You want to make sure that, for the people that you're serving, you have a lot of varieties. Because a lot of people are gluten-free or have different allergies and things like that."
Larry's Market has dozens of platter ideas if you want them to do the cooking for you.
For cocktails, variety can be harder. Jeanette Hurt, the author of Wisconsin Cocktails and many other books about food and drinks, shared a couple of recipes that include many local spirits for you to drink this holiday season.

1 1/2 oz. Holiday Gin
3/4 oz. lemon-lime juices (equal parts lemon and lime juices)

Shake all ingredients, strain into glass with a lime wheel or dried citrus garnish.
To turn into a Holiday Gin Cosmo, just add 1/4 oz. cranberry juice.
