MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Youth Commission reached out to area students on Friday, Sept. 20, hoping to get more children interested in the program.
The commission works alongside County Executive David Crowley and County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson to make advisory recommendations about policy, as well as advance the county's mission of achieving racial equality.
It is an experience that aims to set up students for success as adults.
"It's definitely life changing. through the commission I've been able to have more of a voice in my community," said Milwaukee County Youth Commissioner Marianna Taylor. "I've worked with policy makers to enact real change on the issues that I see. so not only do I get a voice, but you actual get that real world experience."
Applications for the 2025 Youth Commission term can be submitted here. The applications are due on Friday, Sept. 27.
