Applications open for 'Let the Music Play' grants to support local music education

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There is an ongoing effort to provide a financial boost to a wide array of music education programs, including band, orchestra, musical theater, dance and more, aiming to enrich the local youth music scene.

Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and American Family Insurance have launched the sixth annual "Let the Music Play" grant program, targeting non-profit organizations and school programs in Milwaukee County.

The program, since its inception, has aimed to nurture young talent by supporting 40 youth music programs in the county. The grants have facilitated the acquisition of instruments, sound equipment, dance attire, updated curriculums and other educational resources.

Notable past beneficiaries include Bembé Drum & Dance, Rufus King High School and Milwaukee High School of the Arts.

Although the program specifically targets teachers and music education leaders, the broader Milwaukee community is urged to share this opportunity. Those not directly involved in music education are encouraged to inform educators and organization leaders who can benefit from this grant.

Applications for the grant must be submitted by Thursday, Nov. 30. More information can be found by clicking here.
