Badgers advance to Big Ten tournament semifinals
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (CBS 58) - The Wisconsin Badgers will be staying in Minneapolis at least one more day. The Badgers defeated Northwestern in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals 70-61.
Playing without Chucky Hepburn, who sat out with a lower body injury, things did not start as well as in Wednesday's win over Maryland. The Badgers trailed by 11 points in the first half, 23-12, but then responded with a 14-0 run to take the lead, 26-23. At halftime, Wisconsin trailed 33-29.
The second half was controlled by Wisconsin pulling ahead by as much as 11.
AJ Storr had a game-high 30 points going 10-16 from the field. Steven Crowl added 19 points and Max Klesmit reached double figures with 10 points and 7 assists.
Wisconsin will now face No. 3 Purdue in the semifinals on Saturday, March 16th, at noon on CBS 58.
The Badgers have lost to the Boilermakers twice this season, 75-69 in Madison in February and 78-70 in West Lafayette just last week.
