NOW: Basketball fans zone in on Milwaukee for NCAA Tournament matchups

Milwaukee (CBS 58) — With less than 24 hours to tipoff to the first round of the NCAA Tournament, some basketball fans are following their teams across the nation to watch them compete.

Eight teams will play the first round of games at Fiserv Forum starting Friday. For some fans, coming out to show support for their teams is a longstanding tradition.

Michael Sammons, Ellis Corso, and Scott Lepere have been attending March Madness games together for more than 25 years. The men, who are rooting for Illinois and Lipscomb say it's a great way to enjoy basketball and spend time with friends.

"I'm looking forward to seeing Illinois beat Kentucky. That's what I want to see," said Sammons.

"I'm looking forward to seeing the same thing and hopefully Lipscomb can pull an upset. They're the underdog so hopefully they shine," said Corso.

"Yeah, we got tickets to all six games so we're just hoping for some really good basketball and hopefully Illinois and Lipscomb winning at least one game," said Lepere.

All three of the men are visiting from warmer climates, Florida and Tennessee, so while the weather isn't the most enjoyable for them right now, they say they plan on celebrating their teams Milwaukee's many breweries.
