MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The UCC Senior Center celebrated the 100th birthday of one of its regular visitors on Friday, Aug. 14. 

The center tells CBS 58 how important it is to celebrate the milestone. 

"This is a milestone that we really need to celebrate and show the community that we need to appreciate our seniors and that we need to celebrate every single step of their life," said Agnes Rodriguez, director of aging and disability programs. 

Maria Teliz has been going to the senior center for five years. She loves to play Loteria, which is a traditional Mexican game of chance, exercise and socialize with her friends there. 

Maria is already looking ahead to turning 101 after all the love she received at this year's celebration.
