VILLAGE OF WHITEFISH BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Big Bay Beach in Whitefish Bay is closed after water tests shows a high level of E. coli.
Tests show a level of 1,299.7, exceeding the normal threshold of 1,000.
The North Shore Health Department retested Friday, May 28, and will be updating once the results are in.
Just a warning, E. coli can make you sick and high levels can also be a sign of other bacteria or viruses in the water.
The surrounding beaches in Whitefish Bay, Shorewood and Milwaukee are open right now.
