KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The return of snowfall's a welcome sight for businesses that have been suffering because of a lack of it. We met up with a snow removal company preparing for the big day in Kenosha.

It's a busy day at L & L Concrete.

"Most of our fleet repairs are caused by corrosiveness of the salt. You know the truck's rust," said Jamie Lawler, owner of L & L Concrete.

Mechanics are giving their fleet a little inspection, and then attaching the plows.

"And the trucks are ready to go. We're ready for snow (laughs)," said Lawler.

Jamie Lawler's almost giddy about the forecast and says, same's true for his buddies in the business because it's been tough.

"So, we all have other sources of income. We're all doing okay but we've done much better (laughs)," said Lawler.

Mild temperatures and sporadic snowfall have been bad for business. L & L has plowed only two-and-a-half times this year.

"So, two-and-a-half runs. Normally by this time I know that's your next question, by this time we've probably gone out 10 or 12 times," said Lawler.

So, we're inside their salt barn and this actually can be deceiving because it seems so empty, right? But that is because they haven't had to order new salt this season.

"I'm using up last year's salt which I usually use up by Christmas. So, I get a fresh shipment in when I get my stockpile down," said Lawler.

The barn can hold up to 450 tons of salt. Lawler's got 24 trucks in his fleet. In the next 24 hours, he'll be sending out 15, plus one loader.

"I met with my tax man the other day and I normally file an extension. Had my taxes all ready for him before the deadline. We've had a lot of time in the office to get things done," said Lawler.

Kenosha's expected to be under a snow emergency from 10 a.m. Thursday until 6 p.m. Friday.
