Big Events, New Bourbon, and 2025 Excitement at the Civic Centre
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Blessings in a Backpack will host the Race to Feed competition on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, to prepare 10,000 food bags for local children experiencing food insecurity. Those bags are expected to provide food for around 3,000 local children, according to the host organization.
Susan Reed and Regina Estrada of Blessings in a Backpack joined us on Wednesday, Nov. 11 to chat about the event, explaining its bracket-style format and the ultimate goal of the competition.
The competition will include teams competing head-to-head in timed packing matches. Each team will compete at least four times, with categories for corporate teams, student and nonprofit groups and individuals. Individual participants can join for $50 and will be placed on a team, while groups of up to 10 people can register for $250.
Spectators can attend for $25. The 10,000 packed bags will provide nutritional support for 3,000 children over the weekends.
Information about tickets and registration can be found by clicking here.
