MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Police body camera video shows the moments officers stopped Wayne Wacker, 55, after he passed Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign motorcade driving the wrong way.

The incident happened on Oct. 22 around 8:30 p.m. Officials say Wacker was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes on I-94 at the Marquette Interchange when he passed the VP's motorcade.

Bodycam video shows officers questioning Wacker about where he was coming from and how much he had to drink. "You're kind of unsteady," one officer said. When asked where he was coming from, he replied "down south."

As officers continued to question Wacker, he struggled to stand on his own and stumbled his words. "You know you could have killed somebody, right? Going the wrong way in traffic, man. A very busy highway here. You understand that?" Wacker replied, "yeah."

Eventually Secret Service agents arrived to question Wacker and gather information on their investigation. Officials say Wacker's blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.

Back at the police station, Wacker told investigators he had no memory of driving on the freeway.

An attorney representing Wacker says his client had no intention of harming the vice president and didn't even know she was in town.

Wacker is charged with second degree recklessly endangering safety. He's due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 18.
