MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The woman who wrote 'The Help' just wrote her second book...17 years later!

New York Times Best-Selling Author Kathryn Stockett mad a stop at a 'Book Lovers Lunch: Evening Edition' event and our Natalie Shepherd was lucky to MC tonight's conversation!

Stockett talked about her latest book called 'The Calamity Club.'

It was released on May 5th.

It's about women fighting to reclaim what's theirs in 1930's Mississippi.

Wednesday, May 20, book lovers gathered at Prairie Spring on Park in Milwaukee to meet the author and discuss the new book.

"Just the fact that she's using her excitement around this book to help an organization like Bernie's Book Bank that really cares about children's literacy is such a perfect match and we're just really honored," said Jenna Renno, executive director of Bernie's Book Bank of Greater Milwaukee

The event was in support of the Literacy Non-Profit Bernie's Book Bank which provides free books to kids in underserved areas.

Bernie's is opening a brand-new facility in Glendale in July.
