Brewers team up with Wisconsin Humane Society for pet supplies donation drive

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Thursday, April 9, at American Family Field, the Milwaukee Brewers Community Foundation teamed up with the Wisconsin Humane Society for the 'Drive for Charity Event.'

Lines of cars came to the Helfaer parking lot right outside of the ballpark - donating all kinds of pet supplies, including cat and dog food, cat litter, toys and tons more.

Those who donated got to take home a collectible pin from Brewers Manager Pat Murphy and a pair of tickets to an upcoming game.

"We have some gently used stuff that can have a second life that's great, we have had people that have gone to the store and loaded up their car and brought that through so really however it makes sense for someone to make a difference, we're happy to put that to use and get that where it needs to go," said Billy Zakrzewski, manager of corporate.

Even if you didn't get out to Thursday's event, the Wisconsin Humane Society will be accepting donations at American Family Field throughout the Brewers homestand this weekend.
