MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — An exhilarating National League Championship Series sweep is taking many Milwaukee Brewers fans back in time.

"I honestly did not think I'd live long enough to see another World Series," said fan Sheree Rogers, who lives in Green Bay. "My husband and I are both so grateful that we did and that we're going to see it happen."

Rogers has been reliving the excitement of the Brewers' very first World Series 44 years ago.

"It was so much fun. So much fun," she remembered. "I was a 25-year-old single woman and having the time of my life."

She didn't know it would become much more than just a fond memory.

"We just recently started digging out our old memorabilia. I have a pennant that I bought in 1982," Rogers said.

Twenty years after she attended the World Series, she met her husband, Pete. They shared a love for sports and learned they had both seen the Brewers play in the World Series decades prior.

"I couldn't remember the game at the time, and I said, 'I think I kept the ticket, so I'm going to look for the ticket and find out,'" she recalled. "He looked for his ticket, and he found it as well, and it was weird that we were both at Game 3."

For their first wedding anniversary, Rogers framed their 1982 World Series Game 3 tickets side by side.

"My husband sat in the bleachers, and his ticket was $8. My ticket was a little bit better, and it was $18," she said.

The tickets have faded a bit over time but remain a cherished keepsake.

Right now, they're sitting on the mantel as a good luck charm.

"We're leaving them on the mantel until we win the World Series," Rogers said.

The Rogers' good luck charm has put in great work this postseason, and they hope it will bring even better memories this year.
