Brookfield Police urge ’lock your vehicle’ after six recent auto thefts

The City of Brookfield Police Department is urging all residents to lock their vehicles when unattended.   In the past week, the CBPD has received six reports of stolen automobiles, most recently along North Avenue between Calhoun and Brookfield Roads and along Capital Drive and Lisbon Road.   The Police are asking residents to lock not only their vehicles, but also their garage doors and to leave outside lights on.  The Police report that suspects have been entering residences by using garage door open’s found in unlocked vehicles parked on driveways.   Once inside the garage the suspects enter the house through unlocked garage doors.    The Brookfield Police ask residents to notify them immediately if any suspicious activity is scene.
