Bucks decide not to trade Giannis Antetokounmpo

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks have elected not to trade Giannis Antetokounmpo after weeks of outside speculation.

Giannis posted on social media following the end of the NBA Trade Deadline saying "Legends don't chase. They attract."

The Bucks stayed relatively quiet; only making a three-team deal with the Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns.

The Bucks are trading Cole Anthony and Amir Coffey to the Phoenix Suns for Nigel Hayes-Davis and getting Ousmane Dieng from the Bulls, while Nick Richards heads to the Bulls from the Suns.

Dieng was originally drafted by the New York Knicks 11th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft and traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. This week, Dieng was traded from the Thunder to the Charlotte Hornets and then the Chicago Bulls. The 22-year-old has played four years in the NBA coming off the bench for the Thunder. He's averaged 4.2 points per game in 136 career games, winning a title with the Thunder last season.

Hayes-Davis is a former All-Big Ten forward helping the Wisconsin Badgers make back-to-back Final Fours in 2014 and 2015. He is fourth on the Badgers All-time scoring list. After going undrafted, Hayes-Davis spent a season playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, and Toronto Raptors. The 31-year-old spent seven seasons playing overseas before signing with the Suns in the offseason. He's played in 27 games off the bench averaging 1.3 points per game.

The Bucks announced they later waived him as a part of the deal.

Anthony and Coffey played 35 and 30 games, respectively, for the Bucks mostly off the bench. Anthony averaged a career-low 6.7 points per game and couldn't find his shooting touch, hitting a career-low 30.6% of his 3-pointers. Coffey started the final two games of his Bucks career but played minimal minutes this season averaging 2.4 points per game.
