CALEDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Caledonia Police Department's Honor Guard team is trying to get to Washington, D.C. and on Monday, Oct. 7, they're one step closer to achieving their goal.
The Fallen Officer's Foundation presented Caledonia police a $5,000 check to help get their honor guard team to DC for National Police Week.
National Police Week honors the fallen officers that were killed in the line of duty.
"It's to honor them, honor their families. Remember them," said Alexander Ayala, president of the Milwaukee Police Association. "It's just a way for us to go to DC and pay our respects."
National Police Week will be held May 12-15, 2025.
