MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In the summer of 1965, pickleball was founded by Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell and Barney McCallum on Bainbridge Island, Wash., but it took until recently for it to explode in popularity.
Whether you are new to the sport or a seasoned veteran, CBS 58's Bill Walsh has ideas on where to find new players, where to find a court, and where to find coaching to improve your game.
He is showcasing some of these places during this week's 58 Hometowns feature on pickleball in the Milwaukee area, including conversations with the Southeastern Wisconsin Association of Pickleball, or SWAP, who is actively looking for players to help promote the sport.
Also, expect a conversation with Will East, also known as The Prince of Pickleball. East discusses tips and drills on his Instagram account, and also has links to books private lessons.
Bill also is showcasing Milwaukee's first pickleball bar, Dale Z's!
