MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- CBS invites you to "come on down" for a tribute to Bob Barker, Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7:00 p.m. as Drew Carey will host a one-hour special honoring his predecessor on "The Price is Right".
CBS 58 News Director, Jessie Garcia, has not only met Bob Barker, but got to play "The Price Is Right" when he was the host.
"It was 1989," said Garcia. "I was a college student out to visit a friend of mine in Los Angeles. My friend said, "let's go on "The Price is Right."
"My showcase was a living room set, a big screen TV, and a satellite dish. None of which I needed living in a dorm. My parents wound up taking over, they sold everything. I used some of the money to pay tuition."
"It was really a great experience there," Garcia said.
Garcia was asked how Bob Barker was in person.
"I have really nice, warm, fond memories of him and of that experience of being on "The Price is Right."
