WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Local families in need will have a delicious meal this Thanksgiving thanks to your donations during our annual Drive-Thru Food Drive.

The Hunger Task Force estimates a total of 46,000 pounds of food donated, along with 513 frozen turkeys.

And it's not too late to help. You can still donate online, here.

With Thanksgiving less than a week away and the holidays in just about a month, it's easy to get caught up in the rush and forget about those less fortunate. But today, you have the opportunity to help those in need with our annual Drive-Thru Food Drive.

The drive aims to collect turkeys and healthy foods for seniors, families and children to have this Thanksgiving. Food donations can be dropped off at the American Family Field parking lot drive-thru next to Helfaer Field, as volunteers will be ready to accept the donations.

If you can't make it out, click here to make a donation online.

We spoke with Jonathan Hansen, development director at Hunger Task Force, to learn more about how the community can help.

Due to this season's high demand for turkeys, donating three or more frozen turkeys will allow the person donating to receive a special Brewers bobblehead set. The first 300 cars to make a donation will also receive a bobblehead.

Sherrie Tussler, executive director of Hunger Task Force, elaborated on the goal of the drive in a press briefing, saying, “This holiday season will be tough for a lot of families, so we appreciate the generosity of the community to help ensure all families have the opportunity to enjoy delicious meals with their loved ones."

She added, “We’re so grateful for our friends at CBS 58 and Brewers Community Foundation for their tireless work to keep the Drive-Thru Food Drive going strong.”

Brewers Community Foundation Executive Director Cecelia Gore said that the Brewers are proud to be affiliated with this joint effort, noting, "The partnership we have forged over the last decade with Hunger Task Force and CBS 58 has provided an opportunity to have a deep impact which resonates beyond the food drive."

CBS 58 will have live reports in every newscast Nov. 18.
