MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee will host a variety of holiday-themed events this weekend, featuring activities for all ages. Joe Krauss from B93.3 FM joined us on Friday, Dec. 13 to take a peek at a few of them.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will appear Saturday at Cathedral Square Park on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a cocoa party with free hot chocolate, cookies and photo opportunities. Holiday characters, including elves, will also attend.
Santa’s Christmas Cavalcade will depart the Milwaukee Public Market on Friday at 5:15 p.m., traveling east on Wisconsin Ave. The Claus family will ride atop a vintage fire truck with original holiday songs playing. Nonperishable food donations for Hunger Task Force will be collected.
That's not all for Santa's packed schedule in our hometown. On Sunday, Dec. 15 children can meet Santa at two locations: the North Point Lighthouse from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or Mitchell Park Domes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., where story time is included.
Additional attractions include the PAW Patrol live show at Miller High Life Theater and the "European Village Alive!" exhibit at the Milwaukee Public Museum on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., taking a look at holiday celebrations of the past and the origins of some modern traditions.
