GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been placed on the NFL commissioner Exempt List, meaning that he cannot practice or play in games while on the list.

This according to reports from NFL Insiders.

It is currently unclear how long Jacobs will be on the list for.

The news comes after a newly filed criminal complaint details the allegations against Jacobs, who is facing two misdemeanor charges stemming from a May disturbance at his Hobart home.

CBS 58 News has reached out to the Green Bay Packers for reaction to the ruling. 

Jacobs has played two seasons with the Packers, rushing for 2,258 yards and 28 touchdowns while recording 72 receptions.

He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Nov. 17.
