MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The crisp air signals the onset of fall in Milwaukee and there's plenty to do to enjoy it over the weekend. Joe Krauss from B93.3 provided insight into the city's upcoming events when he joined us on Friday, Oct. 6.
Discovery World hosts a Sci-Fi Family Day on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering a unique blend of science fiction, fantasy and performances.
Brady Street becomes a haven for pets on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as the Brady Street Pet Parade takes place. The free event invites all types of pets, from snakes to dogs and cats alike, and features contests with prizes. Proceeds from ticket sales support the Urban Cat Coalition.
The Milwaukee Diaper Mission celebrates its third birthday at Lakefront Brewery from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The event promises live music, crafts and special appearances, with food and beer available for purchase. Notably, MDM, which has distributed over 1 million diapers, seeks donations of supplies such as diapers sized 4-6, pull-ups, wipes and tampons.
The Hill Has Eyes hosts the "Not-So-Scary Halloween Party" every Sunday in October. This family-friendly event encourages kids to dress up and trick-or-treat in a less-frightening setting, targeting ages 8 and above.
