EAST TROY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Amya Pluess led three different East Troy teams, all while achieving great success in the classroom.

"My parents put me in, like, any sport you could imagine when I was little," Hometown Athlete Amya Pluess says. "Soccer, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball. So, I kind of like tried out everything."

That's Amya Pluess: a three sport East Troy athlete who loves staying busy.

"When it gets to like kind of the hard part of the season? I'm sometimes like, 'I just need a couple days to relax,'" Pluess says. "And then the season's done, and I have like three days, and after three days I'm like, "OK, I'm so bored!'"

"She is a kid that you will not find very often anymore," Amya's girls' basketball coach Staci Butalla says. "I think, you know, three sport varsity athlete since her freshman year is something that's really unheard of."

This year, individually, she finished fifth at state in the long jump, but it's her sophomore year relay she'll remember most.

"Something I'll never forget is in our 4x400 meter relay my sophomore year we won state, and that's just something that truly, like, I'll never forget that feeling," Pluess says.

She also earned first team all-conference honors in volleyball, but she loves basketball the most, setting East Troy's all-time scoring record for girls.

"She singlehandedly changed East Troy girls' basketball because she, you know, was a great teammate," Butalla says. "Always encouraging her teammates. Always the first one over to give a high five, or pick 'em up."

"Coming in as a freshman? We won only three games," Pluess says. "And then as a senior, we only lost three games. So, that was kind of cool to see the progression and see, like, the growth there."

She'll play hoops at Concordia, leaving high school with a 3.98 GPA.

"I would have definitely regretted it if I didn't do all of it, and sometimes it can be a little stressful and a little much. But I wouldn't want it any other way," Pluess says.
