CDC issues alert on salmonella outbreak linked to ground turkey

The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA) issued a public health alert for more than 200,000 pounds of raw ground turkey linked to a salmonella risk. This, after more than 28 people have become infected in 12 states.

The affected meat was produced by Plainville Brands and sold under various Nature's Promise Free, Wegman, and Plainville Farms ground white turkey labels.

The items were produced between Dec. 18 and Dec. 29 of 2020. The products are not available in stores, but could still be in your freezer.

Health officials say consumers should not eat the items.
