Cedarburg woman charged with embezzling more than $100,000 from local schools sentenced

CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Cedarburg woman charged with embezzling more than $100,000 from local schools has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Forty-three-year-old Heather Wenthold was accused of buying a hot tub, new appliances, and vacations with funds that were meant for schools that cater to children with autism and disabilities.
She worked as a principal and financial executive employee at Sonnenburg High School when she was charged back in 2023.
Wenthold pled guilty to three of 10 charges, including theft back in April.
