Cedarburg’s Oktoberfest is happening this Saturday, October 8 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, October 9 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The festival will be enjoying its popular downtown location this year in the Cedarburg Community Center parking lot, and offers free admission and parking.

In true Oktoberfest style, a huge tent will be erected to cover the bands and dance floor. It’s not a festival in Wisconsin without plenty of food, beer, and desserts, including everything from bra­twurst and hotdogs to Sauerbraten, Wiener Schnitzel and Germany’s popular currywurst! Guests of the festival will also find specialty beers such as Hofbrau, Hacker Pschorr, Leinenkugel Oktoberfest and Blue Moon, plus a variety of Cedar Creek Winery wines, including their Gold Medal Cedar Creek Riesling. 

Silly contests with prize awards include Saturday’s Best Lederhosen & Tracht attire (male & female, 11:30-11:45p) and the Sauerkraut Eating competitions (7:00-7:15pm). Sunday brings the German Spelling Bee from Ault to Zither (A-Z) from 11:30-11:45pm.
