Cheese curds, haunted bars and zoo frights headline Milwaukee's October lineup
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Julia Meehan of Visit Milwaukee joined us on Wednesday, Oct. 7 with a look at some of the events taking place throughout October in the area.
Lakefront Brewery is celebrating National Cheese Curd Day on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. with three specialty flavors, including Wisconsin Supper Club Prime Rib and Mango Chile Lime, plus a cheese curd pull competition.
In Bay View, Lost Whale transforms into Black Lagoon, a Halloween cocktail pop-up with new decor, lighting and a seasonal drink menu, running through Saturday, Oct. 31.
Boo at the Zoo returns to the Milwaukee County Zoo with Friday evening hours on Oct. 16 and 23, and all-day Saturday events Oct. 17 and 24 featuring a trick-or-treat trail, pumpkin carving and a costume contest. Tickets start at $16. A new 21-and-over night, Spooky Safari, is taking place on Thursday, Oct. 22 for $30.
The Milwaukee Public Museum's final "Greatest Hits" celebration of the year runs through Nov. 1, spotlighting the Streets of Old Milwaukee and European Village with Halloween-themed decorations. The museum closes for good Jan. 3, 2027.
