Child injured after locating firearm in locked safe of Kenosha Police Department member's home

CBS 58 KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 9-year-old child was injured after accessing a firearm inside the home of a member of the Kenosha Police Department.
Authorities say the child accessed a locked gun safe, obtained a handgun and it accidentally discharged.
The child suffered minor injuries to their hand, officials say.
The firearm was not the Kenosha Police Department member's duty firearm.
An investigation is ongoing.
