WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Halloween celebrations got started a little early at a local hospital Wednesday, Oct. 28.

At Children's Wisconsin, Milwaukee patients and their families stopped by the on-site costume shop to pick out their outfits for this year.

Better yet, all of these costumes were free, donated by Spirit Halloween as a part of their Spirit of Children program.

We talked to one staff member about the impact of this event.

"Everybody is doing their best poses and flipping their wig hair and all of those things," said Leslie Scott, programming and special events, Children's Wisconsin. "It's always a super, super fun day. The kids are always super excited, the parents are super appreciative, and the staff gets a lot of joy to be able to contribute to those smiles that maybe wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for an event like this."

The costume shop will be followed with a trick-or-treat event for patients coming up this Friday, Oct. 30.
