Children's Wisconsin updates visitor policy, allowing more support in the hospital

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Children's Wisconsin announced its visitor policy has been updated which will allow additional support in the hospital effective Tuesday, June 1.

According to officials, four adults will be allowed on a patient's visitor list at Milwaukee and Fox Valley hospital patient care units. These four names must remain the same for the entire stay. They will continue to allow tow individuals to be present at the bedside at the same time. However, the hospital says siblings and visitor sunder age 18 are still not allowed in hospital inpatient care units. 

Two individuals may now accompany patients at specialty care, primary care, urgent care, labs, therapies, and community services. 

Children's Wisconsin will continue to allow two indviduals to accompany patients for Surgicenter, Emergency Department, Imaging and surgical services on the Milwaukee campus. 

"This step reflects the continued commitment and partnership of our patients families and staff to provide a safe environment," Children's Wisconsin said. "Not only have our patient families missed having additional support in the hospital, we've missed it too."
