China Lights Wisconsin Festival postponed to 2022 due to staffing shortages

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The popular China Lights Wisconsin Festival has been postponed to 2022, due to staffing shortages.

The event was initially scheduled to run this fall after an absence in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The China Lights Wisconsin Festival honors the art, skill, and beauty of long-established Chinese Lantern Festivals celebrated across Asia for
the last 400 years. Since 2016, the nine-acre Boerner Botanical Gardens has annually transformed for the display of lights featuring more than 40 handmade lantern displays, folk-culture performances. 

The festival welcomes over 100,000 attendees each season. 

"We are saddened and wish we could have brought China Lights back in 2021," said Huiyuan Liu, Event Manager of China Lights and Tianyu Arts & Culture, Inc. "We know this is an event that the community looks forward to each year. We eagerly anticipate bringing China Lights back to Boerner Botanical Gardens in 2022 and presenting the best China Lights event to date!"
