The Dense Fog Advisory has been dropped for our area.  But foggy conditions will persist, and the rain will increase from time to time today, especially later this evening.  It wraps up early Saturday morning.  It'll stay mild, in the 40s, for the weekend.  Dry too.

Update as of 4:30 a.m. Friday, December 27th...

The Dense Fog Advisory has been trimmed back a bit.  It goes until noon basically for the northern half of the viewing area.  At least temperatures are above freezing, so there's no concern for freezing fog.  The rain gets steadier and lasts into Saturday morning.  Rainfall amounts will be between a quarter and half an inch.  Temperatures will be mild through the weekend, in the 40s, but much colder by late next week.  No major storm system coming our way into the start of the new year either.

It's the day after Christmas, but it has looked and felt more like March thanks to the drizzle and dense fog.

Fog will remain dense through tonight and into Friday morning, so the Dense Fog Advisory has been extended until 6am Friday for locations along and south of I-94 and until Noon for areas north of I-94.

A few isolated showers are also expected tonight through Friday morning, but rain will become steady and widespread Friday afternoon and evening.

The steadiest and most moderate rainfall is expected Friday evening, but there is no concern for frozen precipitation as temps will be well above freezing.

Showers will taper off Saturday morning with mostly dry and mostly cloudy conditions expected the rest of the weekend.

A good half inch of rain is expected tonight through Saturday morning.

Temps remain a solid 10 to 15 degrees above normal through Monday with highs in the 40s. A few spots near the IL border may sneak up to 50° on Saturday.
